Challenge
To assist Tourism WA with marketing the state as a cycle tourism destination, and to develop infrastructure and services to support the growth of this market, a detailed understanding of the domestic cycle tourism market was required.
Process
We carried out an online quantitative survey of the Australian travelling public.
Our advanced statistical analysis identified four distinct cycle tourism segments. We profiled the needs, motivations, demographics and psychographics of each segment in detail.
Outcome
Our recommendations on how to best market WA as a cycle destination, with specific strategies targeting each segment, were shared with industry bodies and local governments throughout WA.
